Commercial law is characterized by its very complex legal provisions. On the one hand, the special legal regulations of the German Commercial Code (HGB) must be referred to, e.g. the law on commercial agents or special features of commercial transactions of all kinds. However, the general provisions of the German Civil Code (BGB) are often applied to the same extent.
